The slam family of programs offers a unique capability, it can
drive more than one computer X display simultaneously. The computers
need not be in the same physical location, they must only be
on the same network, or VPN'ed such that the computer running
the instance of the program can set display to the target computer.
As with multiple windows on one computer, graphic windows can
be interlocked as desired on different displays so that a pan
or zoom in one window pans or zooms on all the interlocked windows.
This multiple display interlocked window capability provides
design teams seperated physically the ability to look at the
data together. Even mouse movements are replicated across all
displays.
Although rarely used, multiple people can even edit the same
cell using this method. Of course, you would want each
person working on a different geographic area of the
design so as not to make edits that create problems
for others. |
